Position Overview

Are you an experienced Environmental Engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and solving complex challenges? This position offers an opportunity to support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and operational improvements within a manufacturing environment.

The Environmental Engineer III is responsible for managing the company’s Environmental Management System while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This role will monitor environmental practices, identify opportunities for improvement, minimize waste, prevent pollution, and support sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the company’s Environmental Management System.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permits, and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with environmental regulatory agencies and community partners.
  • Collect, analyze, and report greenhouse gas emissions data.
  • Support greenhouse gas reduction initiatives and sustainability programs.
  • Monitor environmental regulatory changes and communicate impacts to management and stakeholders.
  • Advise leadership on compliance requirements, environmental risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct internal environmental audits to ensure compliance.
  • Support facility recycling programs and sustainability reporting.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports, permits, plans, and regulatory documentation.
  • Assess environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent incidents.
  • Lead hazardous waste management and disposal activities.
  • Support carbon neutrality initiatives, sustainability projects, and environmental data reporting.
  • Develop and implement pollution prevention and waste reduction programs.
  • Review and update Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans as needed.
  • Investigate environmental incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Conduct field inspections related to stormwater, spill prevention, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs for facility materials.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of experience with environmental permitting and compliance related to air, water, and land regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management standards preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage projects while working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence employees and leadership at all levels.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, multi-location facilities, or 24/7 production environments preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based environment.
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing operations and industrial environments.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials and heavy machinery.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required for training or business needs.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support operational requirements.
Safety Requirements

Employees in this position may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, industrial equipment, and manufacturing-related hazards. The role requires adherence to all safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
