WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Supporting the Die Mold department with the building and maturation of plastic injection molds. This position works closely with the New Model and Production Engineering groups to help drive new product development.

  • Confirming mold performance through evaluation and trial activities.
  • Identifying and making necessary corrections during mold procurement stages to ensure optimum quality standards are met by production startup.
  • Assisting in controlling project cost by maintaining and working within strict budget constraints.
  • Setting and maintaining project schedules using predetermined lead times that accommodate customers’ deadlines and expectations.
  • Developing tooling structure.
  • Documenting and maintaining internal trouble tracking to predict and prevent potential repeated failures.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects including quotation, feasibility, build and procurement of plastic injection molds.
  • Basic understanding of plastic injection mold structure/design.
  • Basic understanding of plastic injection molding process.
  • Basic knowledge and use of 2D drafting, 3D modeling and may benefit w/ basic CADCAM software experience.
  • Basic knowledge of data types, translation, acquisition and distribution
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
  • Basic understanding of machining processes related to mold making.

These qualifications are preferred but not necessary for you to get started:

  • Basic use of Catia V5
  • Basic mechanical background

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Able to travel overnight including international obligations.
