Position: COATINGS SENIOR ENGINEER

Stanley Electric U.S. is seeking a senior-level Coatings Engineer experienced with vacuum metallizing and robotic spray painting.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors degree in engineering, 7+ years OJT in engineering or related field, 1 year of Supervisory or Leadership Experience and is fluent in English.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Providing leadership to Associates through daily supervision and interaction;
Overseeing activities involved in new model development and ensuring that equipment for new models meet specifications in order to meet customer requirements and maintain profitability.

  • Involved in current process improvements in order to improve cycle times, reduce cost, and reject rate, which will help improve profitability.
  • Provide technical support to production, process, and maintenance groups to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Provide leadership to Associates through communication of expectations, feedback, and recognition to ensure full functionality of the department.
  • Research and determine the most profitable way to develop new model projects regarding existing equipment, costing, and capacity.
  • Manage capital investment projects to ensure timely and budgetary specifications for the completion of all group projects.
  • Coordinate and delegate duties pertaining to new model schedules and development plans by communicating with sales, regarding cost estimations and purchasing, regarding suppliers, to ensure development of new models by their target completion date.
  • Assist in development of annual budgets / targets for respective departments
  • Process Improvement efforts by troubleshooting and developing countermeasures
  • Participate in new model development in regard to drawing review, tooling design, start-up process development and process confirmation
  • Support a production customer in a JIT manufacturing environment

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

  • 7+ years OJT in engineering or related field
  • 1 year Supervisory or Leadership Experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, and CATIA
  • Knowledge of robotics, electrical and mechanical preferred
  • Proficient with PLC programming for troubleshooting
  • FMEA (Fault Mode Effect Analysis) experience
  • Knowledge of vacuum metallizing and robotic spray painting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Demonstrated training/coaching skills
  • Control multiple projects, budgets and deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Manufacturing Environment (5) hour per day
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.
  • Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.

HAZARDS:

  • Chemicals, moving equipment, heat, electrical
  • Moderate noise levels; within specific areas required to wear hearing protection.

Qualifications

Education Required

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
