Description:
Psychiatric RN needed for 3rd shift.
This position involves taking care of a population of bedridden patients.
Responsibilities include making rounds, evaluating care needs and rendered care, developing care plans, and teaching health care principles.
Administers medications, including narcotics, and renders direct nursing care as needed.
Performs specialized procedures, which include IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties.
Organizes and oversees emergency response activities and directs health care staff assigned to the area.
Acts as the lead worker in charge during assigned shifts in the absence of higher-level nursing staff.
Assists physicians in diagnostic health evaluations.
Performs clerical tasks including charting and recording all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information.
Completes required reports such as incident and accident reports.
Documents necessary medical information and orders supplies and equipment.
Maintains inventory of controlled substances and medical supplies.
Arranges outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations as needed.
Processes new and refill prescriptions ordered by physicians.
Performs administrative tasks and serves as a liaison with other departments.
Conducts and attends team meetings as required.
Serves as an instructor on occasion and participates in problem-solving teams or groups.
Demonstrates knowledge of public relations and employee training.
Possesses skills in operating medical equipment such as stethoscopes and EKG machines.
Must be able to deal with both abstract and concrete variables and write meaningful, concise, and accurate reports.
Ability to gather, collate, and classify information effectively and demonstrate physical fitness.
