What You’ll Do
  • Administers medication (e.g., oral, intramuscular and intravenous) and monitors patient medication compliance
  • Performs treatments and nurse’s sick call, assists with doctor’s sick call
  • Performs or assists with nursing management of chronic care clinics
  • Responds to emergencies providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Performs subjective and objective assessment of patients; collects vital signs and documents findings
  • Collects urine and/or other bodily fluid specimens
  • Prepares patients for release or transfer to other facilities by reviewing patient care, transfer summaries or release summaries
  • Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and forwarded to pharmacy services
  • Participates in work-related training and institutional training exercises
  • Provides assistance to other healthcare staff; investigates and documents problem areas or concerns
  • Reviews shift reports; assists physicians with medical procedures
  • Assumes duties of other nurses during absences; counsels and educates patients regarding healthcare maintenance and disease prevention
  • Participates in quality assurance activities; provides training and work direction to staff
  • Serves as a resource for healthcare and security staff; provides orientation and training for new personnel
  • Acts as lead clinical authority on site in the absence of senior providers; participates in group programming and health/wellness initiatives
  • Performs administrative duties as indicated; schedules multidisciplinary team meetings; assumes shift charge duties as assigned
  • Performs or assists with inventory and ordering of medical supplies; assists ancillary staff as needed

Starting pay is approximately $95,000 based on location/shift assignments.

Ohio has joined the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) which allows an RN to hold one multistate license (MSL) in their primary state of residence while practicing across state lines in 37 other compact states.

DRC is a “qualifying employer” for purposes of the federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness program.

Qualifications

Requires current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.
