Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner who must hold a relevant level 3 qualification to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives while working within a supportive and professional setting.

Job Type: Full‑time 35 hours per week. Term time only.

Duties
  • Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, rest periods, and organised learning sessions.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones.
  • Support children with their individual needs, including behavioural guidance and emotional support.
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks related to childcare records and planning.
  • Contribute to the organisation of nursery events and activities that encourage community involvement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood development, and nursery regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and nurturing qualities essential for working with young children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
