Velox Social Care are recruiting Level 5 (Or working towards) qualified residential childcare professionals to support children's residential homes across Bradford and surrounding areas on an ad-hoc and flexible basis.
This opportunity is ideal for Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, or experienced senior residential practitioners who hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (working towards or equivalent) and are looking for flexible agency work alongside their existing roles.
You will be carrying out ad-hoc monitoring or support visits to solo placements to ensure high-quality care, professional oversight, and safeguarding for Children and Young People (CYP) in the settings.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting homes to maintain high standards of care and compliance
- Observing staff practice and professionalism within the home
- Ensuring staff are actively engaging with young people and delivering appropriate care
- Checking cleanliness, health & safety, and potential risks within the property
- Engaging with young people to ensure they feel safe, supported and well cared for
- Medication checks to ensure accurate recording and stock levels
- Supporting with planning essential tasks such as food shopping where required (e.g. where a young person has restrictions such as DoLS and cannot attend)
- Reporting any concerns or improvement areas to management teams
- Providing feedback and reporting any concerns to the relevant management teams through detailed reports and scheduled teams meetings
We offer flexible ad-hoc shifts depending on service requirements. Flexibility is essential as placements may require both long and short shift patterns.
Essential Requirements- Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care Management (Working towards or equivalent)
- Experience working within residential children's homes
- Right to Work in the UK
- 3 References (2 professional, 1 character)
- In-date physical intervention (or willingness to undertake Team Teach training)
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Flexible working opportunities
