Located in leafy Barnes, The Bridge is a welcome respite from London's bustle. A friendly local, we welcome you for a leisurely weekday lunch or cosy dinner in front of the open fire in our historic Boathouse Dining Room. Renowned for our hearty Sunday roasts, good quality local ales as well as our craft beer selection, our menus are brimming with fresh ingredients and home cooked treats.

Our walled beer garden, and restaurant are available for wedding and event hire, as are our eight boutique bedrooms.

Assistant Manager – The Bridge, Barnes

Now we’re looking for a commercially driven Assistant Manager to help shape the future of The Bridge — our characterful pub-with-rooms in the heart of Barnes.

This is more than a support role. It’s an opportunity to take ownership, build momentum and make a real mark.

About The Bridge

With a large destination garden, eight boutique bedrooms and a strong local following, The Bridge has all the ingredients of an exceptional community pub. What it needs is an ambitious leader who can help unlock its full potential.

It’s a business with room to grow — across food, drink, events and rooms — and we’re looking for someone entrepreneurial enough to see the opportunity and confident enough to drive it.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to:

  • Lead from the front on service, standards and team culture
  • Drive sales through local partnerships, events and smart commercial thinking
  • Build meaningful relationships with our pub and rooms guests
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of both the pub and our 8-bedroom hotel offer
  • Analyse performance and spot opportunities to grow revenue

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven hospitality management experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and a proactive mindset
  • Confidence in driving sales in a quieter trading environment
  • Experience or understanding of hotel/rooms operations
  • A natural host who thrives on community engagement
  • Energy, resilience and ambition
