We are now looking for an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Head Housekeeper ( Maternity Cover) to join the team at Hyatt Place London City East
.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership career within a vibrant and fast‑paced hotel environment. Working alongside the Head Housekeeper, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional cleanliness standards, supporting and developing the housekeeping team, and helping to create memorable experiences for our guests.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT HEAD HOUSEKEEPER Leading the Team- Support the Head Housekeeper in leading and motivating the housekeeping team
- Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of team members
- Conduct daily briefings and allocate duties effectively
- Promote a positive, engaged, and high‑performing team culture
- Lead by example, delivering exceptional standards and service
- Ensure all guest bedrooms, suites, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces are maintained to the highest standards
- Conduct quality inspections and room checks throughout the day
- Support the team in achieving brand and company cleanliness targets
- Ensure guest requests are handled efficiently and professionally
- Monitor and maintain presentation standards across all hotel areas
- Assist with rota planning and labour management to ensure efficient staffing levels
- Support stock control and ordering of housekeeping supplies
- Ensure all housekeeping systems, records, and documentation are maintained accurately
- Work closely with Front Office, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage departments to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Assist in managing external suppliers and contracted services where required
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures
- Promote safe working practices throughout the department
- Support the implementation of company policies and brand standards
- Assist with audits and quality assurance initiatives
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience within a housekeeping supervisory or leadership role
- A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong leadership and people‑management abilities
- A positive, proactive, and hands‑on approach
- The ability to remain calm and effective in a fast‑paced environment
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
