Morson Edge is recruiting for a Highway Inspector to join a well‑established organisation responsible for the operation and maintenance of a major 25km route in East London. This corridor is a vital part of the region's transport network, and the role plays a key part in ensuring its safety, reliability and compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong inspection, supervision and safety experience who wants to work on a long-term, stable infrastructure project with real impact.

• Conduct routine and ad hoc inspections across the network
• Identify hazards, defects, and non-compliance issues
• Supervise maintenance activities and liaise with contractors
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports
• Support hazard prevention and safety improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Work independently while contributing to a collaborative operational team

• LANTRA Highway Inspection training
• NRSWA Supervisor certification
• Previous experience in highway inspection, supervision, health & safety and hazard analysis
• Strong observational skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues
• Clear and confident communication and report‑writing abilities
• A full UK driving licence (pool vehicles provided)
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

• Salary: £35,000-£45,000 dependant on experience
• 25% uplift for up to 10 nights worked
