Overview

Fully-funded PhD Scholarship in Computer Science at Northeastern University London (NU London). The project focuses on developing reliable, adaptive, and universal statistical methods for quantum systems, with applications to quantum sensing, computing, and communications.

• Develop sequential and universal inference methods with finite-sample guarantees.
• Apply quantum statistical modeling using relative entropy, Fisher information, and variational quantum circuits.
• Conduct causal and information-theoretic analysis of quantum divergences to assess statistical efficiency.
• Validate theoretical results via small- to mid-scale quantum simulators and classical emulators.
• Explore applications to quantum sensing, computing, and communications.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (2:1 or 1st required).
• Master’s degree in a relevant subject is optional.
• Proven background in statistics, quantum theory, or related disciplines.
• English language proficiency: IELTS overall 6.5 with at least 6.5 in each component, or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the UK under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
