The Department of Translational Neuroscience and Stroke (DTNS) is a hub for clinical and research excellence. DTNS is home to a collaboration of interlinked neurological research areas, each one focused on advancing translational scientific knowledge to further patient recovery and management and educating through teaching and academic supervision.

The UCL Stroke Research Centre is an internationally recognised leader in the field of clinical stroke research. We are dedicated to doing cutting-edge research to improve the care of people with stroke. We work in close partnership with UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Comprehensive Stroke Service, which is home to an Emergency Stroke Unit, Hyperacute Stroke Unit and Research Centre, and an Acute Stroke Unit.

Our service covers a large catchment population for referrals of about 1.6 million people and sees specialist referrals from the whole of the UK.

About the role

The Stroke Research Centre at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology is seeking a Clinical Trials Coordinator to support the DOAC International Thrombolysis (DO-IT) study. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-leading centre for stroke research and contribute to an international clinical trial aimed at improving outcomes for patients with stroke.

Working with the other Clinical Trials Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the DO-IT study and other clinical trials within the Stroke Research Centre. This includes managing regulatory documentation, liaising with sponsors and collaborators, organising trial visits, and ensuring compliance with UK and international research regulations.

The post is available from 01 September 2026 and is funded by the British Heart Foundation until 31 August 2028 in the first instance.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 60% of time on site.

About you

You will have significant experience in clinical trials work in a medical research environment, knowledge of data protection legislation, experience in data management with the ability to handle sensitive data appropriately. Experience of working in clinical research and managing or coordinating a project is essential, as is experience of setting up and coordinating studies, experience of budget preparation/finance management, and an understanding of ethical issues surrounding research and patients.
