Automatic Door Engineer
Location:
London (REMOTE)
Salary: £20ph + D2D
Shift: Monday – Friday (47.5hrs)
My client, a respected independent specialist in automatic and industrial door systems, is looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Automatic Door Engineer. This is a permanent, field-based role offering consistent work, a local patch, and the opportunity to expand your technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities in your new Automatic Door Engineer role
Install, commission and test automatic door systems (sliding, swing, bi-folding, and bespoke configurations) to meet client requirements and site specifications.
Perform routine maintenance and servicing of automatic doors, ensuring all systems remain compliant with safety standards and operational excellence.
Carry out fault diagnosis, repairs and adjustments effectively and efficiently to minimise downtime for customers.
Conduct health & safety checks on door mechanisms, sensors, control systems and related components to maintain compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Respond to callouts and emergency breakdowns as part of a planned maintenance or reactive support service.
Advise customers professionally on technical issues, proposed solutions, and preventative maintenance to enhance service satisfaction.
Complete accurate service reports and documentation following installations, service visits and repairs.
Maintain company vehicle, tools and stock, ensuring readiness for all assigned tasks and visits.
Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to support project delivery and uphold company standards.
What you’ll need in your new Automatic Door Engineer role
Experience working with industrial doors for a minimum of 2 years
A willingness to broaden your knowledge into new product areas
Full UK driving licence
NVQ or equivalent qualification is beneficial
