Position: Generator Engineer (Permanent)
About the company & role

The company is a leading generator specialist focused on servicing and maintaining customer‑owned standby generators. Known for reliability and technical expertise, the company keeps critical power systems running efficiently.

This Generator Engineer role is an excellent opportunity for someone to transition from the rental industry to standy power. Covering planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and occasional installations/commissioning at customer sites.

Package

* Salary: £45,000 per annum

* Private Healthcare

* Overtime:
Opportunities paid at 1.5x and 2x pay

* Holidays: 25 days + banks

* On‑call: £200 on‑call payment; rota 1 in 8 weeks

* Vehicle & expenses:
Company vehicle and fuel card

* Tech & equipment:
Company phone and laptop; specialist tools and uniform provided

* Bonus: performance‑related bonus scheme

* Development:
Ongoing training, career development, and the option to work on international projects at an enhanced pay rate

Responsibilities

* Carry out planned maintenance and servicing on standby generators.

* Diagnose faults and complete efficient, high‑quality repairs.

* Complete site reports and documentation to a high standard.

* Liaise with customers to deliver excellent service and technical support.

* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Assist with installations and commissioning where required.

* Participate in the on‑call rota for emergency support.

Requirements

* Proven experience servicing and maintaining diesel generators (standby or rental sector).

* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Willingness to take part in the company on‑call rota (1 in 8 weeks).
