General Maintenance Operative

Maintenance Operative – Client Direct – North London – £40,000 – Mon to Fri – 8am to 4pm

This role is client direct and part of the in-house estates team. You will help ensure that buildings remain safe, presentable, and fully operational for staff, students, and visitors.

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate
• Completing basic plumbing repairs including taps, toilets and minor leaks
• Performing general carpentry and fabric maintenance works
• Painting, decorating and making good throughout the buildings
• Assisting with room set-ups for meetings, functions, events and examinations
• Supporting furniture moves and departmental relocations
• Carrying out routine inspections and reporting defects
• Replacing ceiling tiles, locks, ironmongery and fixtures
• Assisting contractors during maintenance and project works
• Maintaining high presentation standards across the site
• Completing maintenance records and job sheets accurately
• Supporting the wider estates and facilities team with operational requirements

• Previous experience within facilities maintenance, estates, caretaking or building maintenance
• Strong all-round maintenance and handyman skills
• Experience carrying out basic plumbing, carpentry and fabric repairs
• Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
• Good communication and organisational skills
• HVAC knowledge or experience would be highly beneficial
• Reliable, proactive and team focused attitude

• £40,000 salary
• Monday to Friday schedule, 8am to 4pm working hours
