We're looking for a General Operative to join our Transportation team based in Picketts Lock.

Contract:

Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 16:30) Salary: £32,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role Join our highways maintenance team at Kier, where you'll be part of our joint venture with Tarmac on the Barnet contract. In this rewarding role, you'll contribute to keeping the London Borough of Barnet's roads and pathways safe and well-maintained while working in a supportive team environment.

What

will you be responsible for?

As a General Operative, you'll be working within the highways maintenance team, supporting them in delivering excellent work standards and maintaining safe roadways. Your day to day will include:

  • Carrying out paving and tarmac repairs throughout the London Borough of Barnet
  • Setting up and removing traffic management systems to ensure public safety
  • Performing daily checks on vehicles and plant equipment
  • Using tablets and digital tools for record keeping and risk assessments
  • Working collaboratively in small teams to complete assigned maintenance tasks
What are we looking for?

This role of General Operative is great for you if:

  • You hold a valid driving licence
  • You hold the relevant driving licence(s) allowing you to operate a vehicle of 7.5 tonnes and more
  • You have experience with plant equipment
  • You possess NRSWA and CSCS qualifications
  • You're comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • You value teamwork and have a genuine commitment to health and safety
