Full-Time | Paid Training Programme (UK Minimum Wage, age dependent)
Based in London / South East (Warehouse and On‑Site Training)
By the end of the programme, you will be trained to become a fully independent shutter installer
A skilled trade with strong earning potential, long‑term security, and progression opportunities
- Learning hands‑on from experienced installers from day one
- Working in our purpose‑built training facility and on real customer installations
- Developing practical skills such as measuring, fitting, finishing, and problem‑solving
- Understanding how a professional business operates across warehouse, logistics, sales, and customer service
- Building confidence working in customers’ homes and delivering high‑quality workmanship
- Progressing through a structured training plan with clear milestones and sign‑off at each stage
This is a 12-month programme combining practical learning, real work, and continuous development
What you’ll learn:- Safe use of tools and professional installation techniques
- How to fit shutters across all styles including bays, shapes, and track systems
- Finishing skills such as caulking, planing, and adjustments to a high standard
- Surveying, measuring, and understanding customer requirements
- How to communicate professionally with customers in their homes
- Vehicle care, job planning, and working efficiently on‑site
- A full understanding of the customer journey from enquiry to installation
Training is structured month‑by‑month, moving from fundamentals through to advanced installs and independent work

Please note:
all roles at Shutters Up require a DBS check. As part of training, all team members gain experience working in customers’ homes to understand the full service journey.
