Location: Greater London
We are currently looking for an experienced Band 5 Technician / Electrician to support an NHS Estates Maintenance team in West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical maintenance professional with strong experience in commercial, healthcare, facilities or estates environments. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, minor works and electrical testing across NHS sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out electrical repairs, planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose faults and maintain electrical systems, plant, equipment and building services
• Work on LV systems, lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, nurse call systems, access controls, CCTV, lifts, generators and associated equipment
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with statutory regulations, HTMs, Trust policies and procedures
• Use PDA/electronic systems to update and close work orders accurately
• Liaise with Estates teams, ward staff, contractors and other stakeholders
• Support emergency/on-call requirements where needed
• Maintain accurate records of faults, repairs, materials and completed work
• Follow health and safety, risk assessment, COSHH and safe systems of work
Essential Requirements:
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or approved electrical training
• City & Guilds Part II, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification
• 18th Edition BS7671 qualification
• Strong experience in commercial electrical maintenance
• Experience with electrical installations, LV systems, fire alarms, nurse call systems, lighting circuits and control panels
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Current driving licence
Desirable:
• Previous NHS, hospital or healthcare estates experience
• Periodic Inspection and Testing 2391-52 or equivalent
• Experience across mechanical, plumbing or building trades
• Experience testing standby generators
This role would suit candidates with experience as a Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Technician, Estates Electrician, Facilities Electrician, Building Services Electrician or Commercial Electrician
