This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, multi-disciplined engineer with strong experience in fire alarm installation, commissioning, and servicing, particularly those familiar with Gent, Notifier, and similar systems.
The Role
As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and installation work across a varied customer base, including retail units, office blocks, and commercial premises.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems
* Fault finding and reactive repairs across a range of systems
* Completing small works, modifications, and system upgrades
* Commissioning fire alarm systems to British Standards
* Opportunity to work on larger installation projects for engineers looking to further develop their installation experience
* Providing a professional and customer-focused service within a defined area
* Ensuring all work is carried out in line with BS5839, Health & Safety legislation, and company procedures
The Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire alarm installation, commissioning, and/or maintenance
* FIA Installation & Maintenance Modules (essential)
* Experience with open and closed protocol fire alarm systems
* Strong knowledge of panels such as Gent, Notifier, or equivalent
* Understanding of electrical design with fire alarm elements
* Working knowledge of BS5839 and current Health & Safety regulations
* Ability to work to time-sensitive deadlines
* Strong fault-finding skills with excellent attention to detail
* Full UK driving licence
Additional Information
This role primarily services London and surrounding areas. Candidates with a multi-skilled background across installation, commissioning, servicing, and small works within the fire industry will be highly advantageous
