Location: Greater London
The Role:
Service and Small works Fire Alarm Engineer
To carry out planned and reactive maintenance of fire alarm systems, alongside delivering small works projects and system modifications across a range of prestigious educational and healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:Service and Small works Fire Alarm Engineer Service & Maintenance:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems
- Respond to reactive call-outs, fault finding and system diagnostics
- Service both conventional and addressable systems
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend remedial actions
- Ensure all servicing is completed in line with BS 5839 and industry standards
- * System extensions
- * Device additions and relocations
- * Panel and component upgrades
- Carry out installation, commissioning, and testing
- Support surveys and provide technical input where required
- Build strong relationships with estates teams, facilities managers, and end users
- Work professionally within live environments including hospitals and universities
- Clearly communicate technical issues and solutions
Complete accurate service reports, certificates, and job records (Sim Pro)
Maintain clear documentation for all works and system modifications
Ensure compliance with:
BS 5839-1 (2025) & Relevant fire safety regulations
Support system handovers and demonstrations where required
Requirements:Service and Small works Fire Alarm Engineer Qualifications & Certifications
- FIA Level 2 in Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (or equivalent)
- Valid UK driving licence
- CSCS card (or equivalent)
- Manufacturer training (e.g. Gent, Advanced, Morley, Kentec, Notifier)
