Electrician

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Commercial Electrician to join our growing team, working across London and the surrounding areas.

The role will involve carrying out a wide range of electrical installation, maintenance and remedial works within commercial buildings. Projects may include offices, hotels, schools, retail premises, managed buildings, plant rooms and other commercial environments.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, able to read drawings and specifications, and capable of completing electrical work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Alongside planned installation works, the role may also include reactive maintenance, fault finding, testing, inspection and small to medium-sized electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation works within commercial environments.
• Install lighting, emergency lighting, small power and distribution systems.
• Install containment systems, including tray, basket, trunking and conduit.
• Install and terminate distribution boards, submains and associated cabling.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix electrical works.
• Read and work from electrical drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs and remedial works.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently.
• Assist with commercial refurbishment and improvement projects.
• Carry out testing and inspection where suitably qualified.
• Complete electrical certificates, job reports and supporting documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with current wiring regulations, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, tenants and office staff.
• Coordinate with other trades and contractors while working on site.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or recognised equivalent.
• ECS Gold Card.
• AM2 qualification or recognised equivalent.
• Proven experience working within commercial electrical environments.
• Experience carrying out electrical installation, maintenance and fault-finding works.
• Good knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical information.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to complete job sheets and electrical documentation accurately.

• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
• Experience carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports.
• IPAF licence.
• First-aid training.
• Experience with in commercial facilities maintenance.
• Experience with emergency lighting systems.
• Experience with lighting controls and commercial distribution systems.
• Eligibility to obtain security clearance where required.
