As the
Grounds Maintenance Operative Apprentice, This is a fantastic opportunity to begin a career in horticulture and grounds maintenance while working towards a Level 2 qualification in Horticulture at Lackham College, attending classes one day per week.
You will work under the supervision of the Head Groundsman and as part of a team maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard.
This role reports directly into the Head Groundsman.
Key Responsibilities:Grounds Maintenance:
- Strimming, mowing, and pruning of shrubs, trees and hedges.
- Seasonal maintenance tasks including planting, weeding, bed maintenance, tree maintenance.
- Work closely with the Head Groundsman and other team members to learn best practices.
- Participate actively in all training and development activities, both on-site and at college.
- A genuine interest in horticulture and grounds maintenance.
- Willingness to learn and develop practical and theoretical skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to attending Lackham College every Monday as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Full UK Driving licence
- Hands-on training and mentoring from experienced professionals.
- Support to complete a nationally recognised Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horticulture.
- Opportunity to gain practical skills and experience in both soft and hard landscaping.
