Job RoleReporting to a Team Leaders and is responsible for assisting the team with delivery of fire systems upgrade works and maintenance on TFL premises.
The job holder must be committed to LUL’s General Safety Policy statement and the Company’s safety program and be aware of their contribution to the program, including the requirement to monitor safety performance and compliance with the systems established to assist in maintaining high safety standards.
The job holder must be familiar with the safety legislation that is relevant to them and comply with the necessary statutory requirements. These will include the Health & Safety at Work Act, Fire Precautions Act 1971 and other associated regulations.
Key Accountabilities- Capable of supporting with the identifying requirements of the task in hand and delivery on a worksite.
- Able to support with the installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection & alarm assets.
- Gather installation & completion evidence.
- Report lack of information to relevant persons, assemble tools, equipment and materials and check tools, equipment and materials.
- Must be able to deal promptly and effectively with problems within their control. Report to others, deviations which cannot be solved. Follow the correct process/operations for the allocated task.
- Establish and maintain communication with the relevant persons. Assist in the installation & commissioning of assets under supervision.
- Will be able to carry out skilled work unsupervised or assist in the installation of assets. May be used to execute any skilled portion of the work and to assist other skilled operatives in performing their duties.

- Successfully completed a registered apprenticeship including all knowledge and performance assessments, of the Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation Buildings & Structures). Essential
- Level 3 NVQ diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (buildings, structures and the environment) or the Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (Installation) Apprenticeship Standard (C&G 236 Parts 1& 2 or approved equivalent), plus the industry assessment of occupational competence (the AM2) OR have completed the JIB Mature Candidate Assessment including the AM2. - BS 7671 18th Edition Regulations (or equivalent) and Full UK driving license. Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate (LVL3) or minimum LVL2 safety qualification. Desirable
- Manufacturer Product Training (AEL, Kentec). Desirable
- Fire systems related TFL CAT 1 standards & guidance. Desirable
- Experience in electrical installation, preferably including fire detection & alarm systems. Desirable
- Proven industry experience and demonstrated competency of electrical systems installations (preferably including fire systems), within the TFL environment. Desirable
