Mobile Fabric Engineer

LOCATION:

North West London (MET Police Contract)

We're looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to deliver high-quality building fabric maintenance across a range of Metropolitan Police sites in North West London.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs across designated MET Police buildings.
• Perform carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, plastering, and general building fabric maintenance as required.
• Complete minor repairs to fixtures, fittings, doors, walls, partitions, and building finishes.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, to a high standard, and in accordance with contractual SLAs and KPIs.
• Maintain accurate records using Mitie systems, including job sheets, asset updates, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise professionally with the client and site personnel, ensuring minimal disruption to sensitive environments.
• Diagnose issues, propose solutions, and elevate complex problems when required.
• Participate in the out-hours rota (where applicable) to support emergency call-outs on police estates.

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

• Proven experience in a building fabric or multi-trade position (carpentry preferred but not essential).
• Full UK driving licence (mobile role with van provided).
• Strong understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to pass and maintain Metropolitan Police vetting (essential) - which could take from 7-10 months
