Solar Electrician

Birchwell Associates is recruiting for an experienced Solar PV Electrician to join an established renewable energy business delivering residential and commercial Solar PV and battery-storage projects across London and the South East. This is a senior hands-on position for a fully qualified Electrician with strong Solar PV experience who is comfortable taking responsibility for electrical installations, supporting site teams and maintaining high technical standards.

The business has been operating within the renewable energy sector for more than a decade and has delivered thousands of solar installations across the UK and Europe.

The Role Working predominantly across residential projects, with a mixture of commercial installations, your responsibilities will include:
Completing electrical installations for Solar PV and battery-storage systems Installing and connecting inverters, optimise rs, microinverters and associated AC/DC equipment Installing EV charging equipment where required Overseeing and supporting installation teams on site Electrical testing, inspection, fault finding and remedial works Repair and maintenance of existing renewable energy systems Supporting site surveys and developing knowledge of basic system design and cable sizing Carrying out general electrical installation works Working alongside roofing and installation teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently Ensuring installations comply with current electrical regulations and company standards Maintaining accurate testing and installation documentation Providing a professional service to customers on site

What Were Looking For To be considered, you will ideally have:
Minimum 5 years' electrical experience across domestic and commercial environments At least 1 year of hands-on Solar PV installation experience NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent 18th Edition Strong electrical testing and fault-finding ability

Experience with Solar PV and battery-storage systems ECS Gold Card or relevant CSCS/ECS certification Solar PV / MCS-related qualifications would be advantageous IPAF would be beneficial Full UK driving licence Permanent right to work in the UK You should be comfortable working independently, supporting other electricians and installers, and taking responsibility for electrical standards across projects. Package £50,000 £ 60,000 salary , depending on experience Permanent position Monday to Friday Occasional weekend work available but not obligatory Company vehicle Fuel card 28 days paid holiday Company pension Long-term opportunity with an established renewable energy business The role is based from Basildon, Essex , with travel to installations across the South East.

Due to the requirement to attend the company warehouse, candidates should ideally live within approximately 1520 miles of Basildon .
