Pay Rate: £13.58 per hour PAYE
Hours:
Up to 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (additional Saturday work may be available) Duration: 2 - 3 Month Temporary Assignment Rotherham Council are looking for four reliable and hardworking Waste Management Operatives to join their team on a full-time temporary basis for the next 2 - 3 months. You'll play a vital role in helping to keep Rotherham clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable. Day-to-day of the role As a Waste Management Operative, you will work as part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality environmental, cleansing, waste management, horticultural, and grounds maintenance services across the borough. The role requires flexibility, as you may be asked to support other council services such as waste collection, highways, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance to meet operational needs.
Full training will be provided for all duties undertaken. Collect waste and recycling from domestic and commercial properties. Empty public litter bins and carry out litter picking duties. Report environmental issues such as fly-tipping, potholes, and other hazards. Assist with the delivery of waste containers and bins. Support vehicle safety checks and safe working practices. Assist with street cleansing and environmental maintenance duties.
Work efficiently to meet service targets and collection schedules. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures. Provide support across other operational services when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliability and punctuality. Awareness of health and safety procedures. Experience working in a physically demanding environment. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Experience working to operational targets and service standards is desirable. Benefits:
