General Labourer​/Groundworker

We're looking for a hardworking and reliable General Labourer / Groundworker to support our Mobilisation, Excavation and Reinstatement (MER) teams. You'll play an important role in preparing sites, supporting excavation and completing reinstatement work safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to develop your groundwork and construction experience, learn new skills and progress your career within our growing Geotechnical Solutions team.

What you'll do;

• Support MER Operatives with mobilisation, excavation and reinstatement activities.
• Help prepare sites, including clearing areas, setting up barriers and maintaining safe access.
• Assist with manual digging, handling tools and managing excavated materials.
• Support back filling, compaction and reinstatement of excavated areas.
• Use basic tools and equipment such as compactors, shovels and wheelbarrows.
• Assist with loading, unloading and moving equipment, tools and materials.
• Keep tools and equipment clean, safe and in good working condition.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to the Site Supervisor.
• Take part in toolbox talks, safety briefings and daily risk assessments.
• Follow all HSE requirements and keep sites clean, tidy and safe.
• Work closely with MER Operatives and the wider team to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
  Previous experience in general labouring, groundwork or construction.
• Basic understanding of excavation and reinstatement.
• Comfortable using hand tools and basic site equipment.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
• Good team player with a positive attitude.
• Flexible approach to supporting different projects and site requirements.
• CSCS card or equivalent.

• Experience with paving, tarmacking, landscaping or reinstatement.
• Experience operating small plant, such as compactors or mini excavators.
• First Aid or other relevant safety qualifications.
