Maintenance Supervisor - Mining Equipment

Our client seeks a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team for heavy mining equipment in East London . This crucial role involves overseeing the repair, maintenance, and servicing of a diverse fleet of mining machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency. You will manage a team of technicians, plan preventative maintenance schedules, and ensure adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence in maintaining critical mining assets .

• Supervise and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all heavy mining equipment.
• Oversee and execute repairs, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion.
• Manage spare parts inventory and control maintenance costs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide technical guidance.

• Trade qualification (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Fitter and Turner) or relevant engineering diploma.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintaining heavy earthmoving or mining equipment.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in heavy machinery.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
