Job Description:

Easterseals NH is excited to launch the brand-new Technology Hill Early Learning Center in Londonderry, NH. We are seeking a passionate, collaborative, and highly organized Associate Director to help build an exceptional early childhood program from the ground up.

Under the general supervision of the Senior Director, the Associate Director is responsible for the overall management, operations, compliance, supervision, and development of assigned classrooms and age groups within the Technology Hill Early Learning Center.

Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Human Services, or a related field, with at least five (5) years of experience in a licensed child development program is required OR:

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Human Services, or a related field, with at least three (3) years of experience in a licensed child development program, is preferred

The ability to obtain and maintain a New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Development credential within six (6) months of hire date

The ability to meet NH Child Care Licensing Unit’s requirements for ‘Center Director’ required

One to three years (1-3) of experience in a supervisory or administrative role in the early childhood field, required.

Certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED required.

Minimum twenty-one (21) years of age Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Essential Responsibilities:

Manage the daily operations of the assigned classrooms/age groups, including but not limited to, maintaining program census, ensuring adequate staffing coverage, staff supervision, performance management, student enrollment and discharge, etc.

Assist the Senior Director in recruitment, hiring, training, and coaching employees, while ensuring appropriate teacher-to-child ratios.

Partner with the Senior Director to assist with the development, implementation, and continuation of policies, procedures and operations that are consistent with local, state and federal regulations, NAEYC Accreditation criteria and agency requirements regarding education, health and safety of children and their environment.

Assist the Senior Director to ensure full enrollment of the Center, track daily census, as well as enter & maintain child and family enrollment data, statistics, and reports required by internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain respectful and supportive individual relationships with parents and prospective parents through effective communication in person, via phone and email, in handbooks, and program outreach materials.

Collaborate with the Senior Director to ensure adequate staffing to meet needs of children and licensing and accreditation requirements, including planning for and scheduling adequate substitution resources to meet needs for staff emergencies or vacations, as well as assisting teachers in classroom.

Observe, coach, support, and assist with training early childhood teaching staff on the implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom strategies, classroom management practices, NAEYC guidelines and regulations, and behavioral intervention strategies.

Oversee curriculum planning & development for early childhood teaching staff to ensure appropriate curriculum and lessons are integrated across all abilities and developmental domains in classrooms.

Partner with the program’s Senior Director, Children’s Therapeutic Services Program, the Director of Intake & Family Services, and external community partners (as appropriate) to ensure a positive and inclusive classroom experience for children with disabilities and other special needs.

Support & coach early childhood teaching teams to deliver high-quality services and trauma-informed care focused teaching practices to children with disabilities, social & emotional challenges, disruptive or physically aggressive behavior.
