Job Description
Position Title:
Administrative Assistant
Support Staff Labor Grade: V
JOB ANALYSISUnder the direction of the Director of Student Services, this position will perform a variety of specialized and complex administrative support duties. The Administrative Assistant will coordinate, organize, oversee and perform everyday clerical and administrative responsibilities to ensure smooth and efficient office operations in an academic environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(The following are illustrative of the responsibilities associated with this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with little direction
- Prepare and accurately maintain a variety of reports, records, and files relating to students, operations, and activities
- Aid the administrator by screening calls, visitors, and mail and, when appropriate, referring to other school officials who may be better placed to deal with the matter at hand
- Compose routine correspondence independently; prepare, type, and distribute communications as requested by Administration
- Provide information concerning school policies, procedures, actions, activities, and schedules as appropriate; and maintain the school calendar
- Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community and students
- Maintains a wide variety of manual and electronic document files and records (ex. budget data, employee records, financial records, reports, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills when interacting with staff, students and parents
- Ability to work comfortably with quickly shifting priorities and constant interruptions, while maintaining good judgment regarding priority of tasks, safety issues and overall support
- Coordinate office procedures and implement processes to ensure seamless flow of communication and work product
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Google Docs and ability to learn District's software programs
- Ability to use discretion with confidential information, as this position is exposed to information regarding families, students and staff that must be kept confidential at all times
- Arrange meetings and conferences, schedule school events, either of an instructional, extracurricular or administrative nature
- Support the budget process through preparation of purchase requisitions, placing orders and budget tracking
- Knowledge of lockdown procedures, fire drills, emergency backpacks to insure a safe school environment
- 3 years of College or equivalent work experience in related position

The Londonderry School Board is composed of five members elected to three-year terms. Elections are held every year. The Board sets policy for the school district and hires the superintendent to serve as chief administrative officer. The superintendent directs the educational and business activities of the school district. The Board generally meets every other Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Londonderry High School Café located at 295 Mammoth Road.
