Lactalis US Yogurt, based in Londonderry, NH, is hiring a Utilities & Processing Manager. The Utilities and Processing Manager leads the performance, reliability, and compliance of plant utility, environmental, and milk processing systems, oversees cross-functional maintenance teams, drives energy-efficiency and sustainability initiatives, and manages capital and operational projects from planning through execution. The role ensures utility operations (HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, glycol, electrical distribution, wastewater) are safe, efficient, and compliant, and provides technical leadership for milk processing systems to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.
This position collaborates with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory partners to support operational excellence and site-wide performance goals.
For project and maintenance leadership, create long- and short-term plans with milestones and timelines. Act as a primary point of contact for project personnel, coordinate with internal and external partners, monitor quality control, and adjust schedules, targets, and funding as needed.
Plant Utility Systems: drive energy efficiencies to support sustainability goals. Supervise Utilities Maintenance to oversee HVAC, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, air compressors, glycol systems, and electrical distribution. Lead energy conservation and utility projects while ensuring compliance with plant standards for non-utility projects.
Environmental Systems: provide technical oversight for the Industrial Pretreatment Facility (WWTP) and plant environmental compliance. Manage environmental contracts and audits, submit regulatory documents, and align with corporate sustainability initiatives.
Milk Processing Systems: manage Maintenance resources for all milk processing systems. Develop mid- and long-term preventative maintenance plans to ensure reliability (including raw milk, ingredient batching, pasteurization, CIP). Partner with internal teams and contractors to execute continuous improvements and reliability projects.
From your EXPERTISE to ours:
Key responsibilities include overseeing utility and processing project development and budgets; ensuring food safety and quality; supporting projects with production increases; identifying energy-efficiency opportunities; assembling energy usage data and producing KPI reports; developing and executing improvement plans; leading maintenance programs for plant utility and milk processing systems; supervising utility operations to meet permit limits.
Education:
A bachelor's degree is preferred; major in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
5+ years in utility and resource maintenance and reliability management in a manufacturing facility; experience in energy-intensive environments is preferred.
Certifications and knowledge:
Wastewater Systems certification, Boiler Operator, and Ammonia Operator are preferred. Also required: experience with ammonia systems and Process Safety Management (PSM) for ammonia, high-pressure boiler operations and regulatory compliance, safety and environmental processes…
