RoleThe CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering building materials to customer job sites. This role focuses on standard CDL driving responsibilities and does not require specialized equipment operation (e.g., Boom or Moffett) but may offer opportunities for advancement into those roles.
What You’ll Do- Safely operate a CDL Class A or B truck to deliver materials to customer job sites
- Plan and execute safe load placement, including setting up proper stabilization (outriggers) and site safety zones
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections, including boom components
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials while preventing damage
- Maintain DOT logs, delivery paperwork, and compliance documentation
- Communicate with dispatch, site supervisors, and customers regarding delivery details and placement requirements
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and job site hazard assessments
- Assist with warehouse operations, staging, and loading when not driving
- Valid CDL Class A or B license
- Current DOT medical card
- Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR checks (annually)
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
- Experience delivering building materials or working in construction supply
- Forklift experience
- Familiarity with local routes and job site deliveries
- Local, daytime routes (home daily)
- Typical schedule:
Monday-Friday (with potential overtime during peak periods) - Work performed in both warehouse and outdoor job site environments
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation
- Ability to drive in varying weather conditions
- Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds occasionally
- Frequent bending, lifting, and securing loads
- Ability to enter/exit truck cab and work on job sites safely
- Subject to Criminal background search, Motor Vehicles Record Search, DOT Safety Performance History, and Full Query through FMCSA Clearinghouse.
