We are looking for creative and passionate assistants that value the individual potential of each child and create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Our current Assistant hours are 10:30am-5:30pm 5 days a week. Medical and dental health plans and PTO, paid holidays, and a 401k available for full-time employees.
The assistant will help in all areas of the classroom including preparing materials, maintaining materials, class cleaning, performing classroom management, giving lessons at the instruction of the Directress, assisting children, serving snack & lunch, keeping a calm work environment, and attending to activities in the afternoon after the Montessori work periods. Must be able to lift & carry children up to six years of age (50 lbs.
or more), arrange shelving units, and kneel and stand from the floor.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Interest in learning Montessori philosophy
18 years of age & eligible to work in the US
Commitment to helping meet the potential & needs of each child in the classroom
Reliable, professional, & able to work with colleagues
Additional Qualifications
Lead Teacher certification preferred, or Montessori certification/knowledge of the Montessori method
Experience in a classroom setting/childcare
Knowledge of the developmental & emotional needs of children ages 2.5-6
Salary Range: $17-20 DOE
