English and Reading Tutor​/Teacher

Overview

English and Reading Teachers Wanted for Fun After-School and Summer Tutoring! Sylvan Learning Center is looking for fun, dedicated teachers to help and inspire students. We are currently looking for teachers who are able to teach reading at a 6-12 grade level, with a preferred focus on grammar, upper level comprehension and composition.

• Lead instruction for groups of up to three students and motivate students to be successful, using pre-planned lessons.
• There is no lesson plan to create and no homework to grade; scheduling is flexible.

• Bachelor’s Degree required;
  Teaching Credential recommended (required for some subjects).
• You must enjoy teaching, working with and inspiring students. (We want you to be happy here!)
• Punctuality is essential; you must be local and have reliable transportation.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.
• Teach students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 3 students per teacher.
• Most teachers choose to work 2-5 days/week.
• We are open for instruction weekday afternoons, weekday mornings in the summer and Saturday mornings.
• This is NOT a remote position.
