Position Overview Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic Engineering Project Manager in our engineering services group. You will be part of our growing team focused on managing engineering projects including project development, Pre-FEED and FEED scopes and working with clients to help build and maintain relationships. This role is crucial as we offer a Solutions Provider mentality that exceeds client expectations, compliments our EPC business and furthers Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.

Kiewit’s Industrial markets include industrial power, mineral processing/metals, energy transition and biomanufacturing. Specifically, you will participate in client discussions, scope definition, engineering estimating, indicative overall project estimating, proposals and managing execution of multi-discipline engineering scopes. Working with our technical subject matter experts, this scope can range from studies to Pre-FEED / FEED and potentially detailed engineering design. This position requires an experienced professional capable of balancing multiple competing priorities, either on single larger projects or across many unrelated smaller projects.

These priorities include, but are not limited to managing client expectations, maintaining positive and engaging client communication, and managing multi-discipline engineering teams to meet project requirements within budgeted time and price.

Our rapidly growing Industrial and Water Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC (Engineer Procure Construct) and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Location This position is based out of Lenexa, KS and Lone Tree, CO and may require up to 25% travel on average based on project demands. Opportunities for flexible work are available.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
    Direct the development and oversee the implementation of the project execution plan including deliverables lists, schedule, budget, manpower projections, and quality management.
  • Schedule and lead project team meetings as required.
  • Coordinate client billings with the Kiewit business management team
  • Monitor and report project progress against the execution plan, take appropriate corrective action if progress falls behind the plan
  • Monitor, control, and report project expenditures against the budget.
  • Oversee contract change notice management process as required
  • Communicate project status to Kiewit management, such as providing regular weekly reports, monthly reports, and other reports as required
  • Through engaging communication, provide technical expertise, establishment of team goals, and alignment with project objectives
  • Develop and execute a communications plan, ensuring team members are informed of strategy, shared goals, objectives, milestones, individual responsibilities, best practices, and policies.
