The Douglas County Housing Partnership is hiring a Deputy Director to serve as second-in-command of a multi-jurisdictional housing authority serving the south Denver metro area.

Douglas County. Its current memberjurisdictionsare Douglas County, the Town of Castle Rock, the Town of Parker, the City of Lone Tree, and the City of Castle Pines.
Our mission is to achieve economically thriving communities by preserving, providing, and developing housing choices in Douglas County.
We develop, own, and manage affordable rental housing,create public-private development partnerships,supporthomeownership opportunities, and serve as a HUD-approved housing counseling agency.
DCHP’s Main Office is in Lone Tree,Colorado,a vibrant south

The Deputy Director is DCHP’s second-in-command and internal operating leader.
The Deputy Director is DCHP’s second-in-command and internal operating leader, comparable to a Chief Operating Officer (COO) role in a larger organization.
You will lead the agency’s day-to-day internal operations, including supervising managers and other direct reports,and translating strategy into clear work plans and assignments.
- Leadership of six direct reports across Housing Operations, Compliance, Finance and Accounting, Housing Counseling and Loan Servicing(down payment assistance, shared equity program), Regional Housing Partnerships and Planning, and Administrative Services.
- Day-to-day internal operations, workload and coverage decisions, cross-division coordination, and agency-wide deadline tracking.
- Management oversight of the operating, financial, and capital performance of DCHP’s affordable housing portfolio(LIHTC, HUD, HOME).
- Agency-wide compliance follow-through,ensuring managers implement HUD, state, funder, and DCHP requirements andresolvemonitoring or audit findings on time, while preserving the Compliance Administrator’s technical role.
- Human resources administration, manager coaching, and a workplace built on compassionate accountabilitywithclear expectations, direct feedback, support, and follow-through.
- A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in lending, community development, housing finance,affordable housing development, affordable housing programs, housing counseling, or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling at least ten years.
- At least five years of experience leading and managing others.
- Experience in strategic and annual planning, key performance indicator management, budgeting, and expense management.
- Demonstratedproficiencywith Microsoft 365, project management software, accounting systems, and other computer technology used in agency operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication, time management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Commitment to transparency and integrity, adaptability in work approach, and the ability to independently complete a complex workload without close supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record. A Colorado driver’s license isrequiredwithin 30 days of hire.
- Five or more years of real estate development and asset-management experience, including affordable housing and compliance.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requirements, affordable housing compliance regulations, and Fair Housing requirements.
- Working knowledge of Yardi property-management software.
- Experience advocating for low- and moderate-income households with lenders, builders, elected officials, and business or civic groups.
