Position: Registered Nurse - Mother Baby / Postpartum
Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized postpartum and mother/baby nursing care for patients in a hospital setting, ensuring safety, education, and comfort during their stay. Supports new parents by offering education on newborn care and fostering a compassionate environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer postpartum and newborn care, including circumcisions and monitoring vital signs.
• Educate new parents on safety, nurturing, and newborn health practices.
• Collaborate with unit staff to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (Meditech / CPN).
• Respond promptly to patient needs and monitor patient well-being continuously.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license with at least 1 year of recent Mother/Baby acute care experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in postpartum and newborn procedures.
• Possess BLS and NRP certifications; lactation and transitions experience preferred.
• Show compassionate, patient, and friendly demeanor with excellent patient care skills.
• Able to work 7A to 7P shifts in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team.
