Work Schedule:

Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $37.06 - $57.44 / hour (dependent on experience)

Note:

This is an onsite role; no hybrid or remote option.

Summary

Provides direct patient care in a surgical setting at a proficient level, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Monitors and manages the patient and operative environment before, during and after surgery to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Responsibilities
  • Perform circulating functions before surgery: prepare the operating environment, orient and assess the patient, and review the patient’s medical record and surgeon’s notes to ensure all prerequisites and preferences are met.
  • Ensure safety checklists and procedures are implemented and documented at all times.
  • Perform circulating functions during surgery: monitor and communicate patient condition, document interventions and activities, monitor the sterile field, and control traffic into, out of and around the room.
  • Perform scrub functions: prepare, select, and handle instruments and supplies used during the surgical procedure and perform surgical counts with the circulating nurse.
  • Provide nursing care to a complex, high‑acuity surgical patient population in a technically complex environment.
  • Apply critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum Required

    Education:

    Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • Preferred: BSN.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Required:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
  • Preferred: CNOR.
  • Minimum Experience:

    6 months of OR nursing (RN) experience OR completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in‑hand before start date; must be good through 60 days of hire.

Performance Bonus: 3‑Year Incentive Bonus based on quality, patient experience, organizational growth, financial goals, and tenure. Accumulates annually each October and is paid out in October during the third year of employment.
