Position: Assets Protection Specialist -  Lone Tree, CO

Pay

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $24.00 - $26.00. The full pay range for this position per hour is $24.00 - $40.80.

All About Assets Protection

Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team, and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guests. They also build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Using surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while aiding in the reduction of shortage.
  • Using Target’s video surveillance system to monitor guests and identify potential theft risks.
  • Implementing Target’s Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
  • Properly and effectively documenting cases.
  • Identifying strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehension.
Typical Day
  • Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments.
  • Greet: smile, make eye contact, wave; greet guests at 10ft and 4ft distances.
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
  • Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Adjust to business and guest needs.
  • Support store sales by ensuring product is in stock and available, preventing and resolving theft.
  • Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas while strictly adhering to AP policies and procedures.
  • Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
  • Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues.
  • Understand and appropriately use video systems to monitor theft activity.
  • Respond to security incidents and submit documentation for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.
  • Promote a physical security and safety culture for team members and guests by creating awareness and training safe and secure standards throughout the building.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
  • Work safely always; comply with safety policies and training; report hazards.
  • Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
  • Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet any state or local licensure or other legal requirements related to the position.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
  • Climb up and down ladders.
  • Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
  • Handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements; be mobile for scheduled shift duration.
