Accounting Manager
Long Beach, California
We are partnering with a growing, dynamic organization in Long Beach to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and supervise a team of six. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end close, and maintaining strong accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and an effective people leader who can drive accountability while supporting team development and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results
- Supervise a team of six accounting professionals, providing coaching, oversight, and performance management
- Oversee general ledger activity, including review and approval of journal entries and supporting documentation
- Manage account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved
- Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports
- Coordinate audit activities, including preparation of schedules and response to auditor requests
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Partner with leadership to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience
- Proven ability to manage and develop a team (experience overseeing 5+ staff preferred)
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines

Requirements - 7+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities in an accounting manager or supervisor capacity.
- Strong experience managing month-end close activities in a complex business environment.
- In-depth knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Proven ability to support financial statement audits and work effectively with external auditors.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues and resolve account variances.
- Experience preparing and reviewing reconciliations, financial data, and supporting schedules with a high level of accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
