Matura Farrington is working closely with a highly successful, well-established law firm in Century City that is seeking an Accountant to join its collaborative and experienced accounting team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a sharp accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work and wants to contribute meaningfully in a collegial, high-performing environment.

In this role, the Accountant will work closely with the Controller and CFO across a wide range of responsibilities, including general accounting, financial reporting, and treasury functions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the firm’s financial records and supporting strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general ledger and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals
• Review the general ledger for coding and compliance with tax deductibility
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects
• Compile, analyze, and present internal financial reports
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies

Qualifications:

• 3-7 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks
• Treasury and cash management experience required
• Strong technical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
