Staff Accountant

Position Summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Staff Accountant to join our fast‑growing firm. Under close supervision, the Staff Accountant will complete a variety of tax, audit, and other assignments as designated by the Supervisor or Manager. Some positions may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements.

• Complete tax and/or audit engagements for designated clients as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
• Identify and communicate potential problem areas during engagements.
• Conduct client‑specific research—gather, analyze, and interpret data, compile reports, and make recommendations to principals and partners.
• Develop effective client relationships through professionalism and follow‑through.
• Assume other duties and projects as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance.
• Up to 1 year of experience in public accounting or 1–3 years in an internal accounting role (or an appropriate balance of education and work experience).
• Ability to sit for the CPA exam or have passed sections of the CPA exam (a plus).
• Basic understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, strong organization, and ability to work efficiently under close supervision.
• Team‑oriented approach and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and report‑writing tools.
• Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
• Ability to meet internal firm deadlines (time entry).
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed and to travel domestically.

• Salary range: $70,000 to $76,000, depending on experience.
• 401(k) plan with firm profit‑sharing.
