Staff Accountant

Our client is a growing construction company in Southern California looking to add a Staff Accountant to its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands‑on accounting role and wants to build experience across A/R, A/P, general ledger accounting, cash activity, and month‑end close in a construction environment.

• Assist with accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, payment posting, collections follow‑up, and maintaining accurate customer records
• Support accounts payable, including invoice entry, vendor communication, coding invoices, and preparing payments
• Record and reconcile cash deposits, bank activity, and daily/weekly cash transactions
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the month‑end close process
• Partner with project managers, operations, and vendors to resolve invoice, billing, or payment questions
• Support construction‑related accounting processes such as job cost tracking, project‑related billing, lien waivers, insurance documents, and subcontractor/vendor files
• Assist with general ledger maintenance and ensure transactions are coded accurately

• 1‑3+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience in construction, real estate, subcontracting, or a project‑based business is a plus
• Detail oriented with the ability to work independently
• Comfortable working in Excel and accounting systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
