We are a rapidly growing, high-tech aerospace company going through enterprise-wide transformation and are seeking a Vice President, Corporate Controller to lead the Company's global accounting organization while building the operational finance infrastructure required to support the next stage of growth. This is a highly visible leadership role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and partnering closely with leaders across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, FP&A, IT, and Internal Audit.
We are looking for a hands-on, operationally focused accounting executive who enjoys building scalable processes, partnering cross-functionally, and solving complex business challenges. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing technical accounting matters with auditors, designing end-to-end business processes with operations leaders, and rolling up their sleeves to improve the efficiency of the monthly close, procure-to-pay cycle, and manufacturing accounting environment. This role requires an experienced accounting leader with deep technical expertise, strong manufacturing cost accounting knowledge, and a passion for implementing systems and processes that enable a high-growth organization to scale.
Responsibilities- Lead all corporate accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, consolidations, revenue, fixed assets, inventory, cost accounting, payroll accounting, accounts payable, and treasury accounting.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while driving continuous improvements to shorten close timelines and improve reporting quality.
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable accounting processes that support a rapidly growing manufacturing organization.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to establish effective financial controls and operational processes across the business.
- Lead and improve the procure-to-pay process, ensuring efficient workflows, strong internal controls, and accurate financial reporting.
- Drive excellence across inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, reserves, and cost of goods sold.
- Develop scalable cost accounting methodologies that provide meaningful operational insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Serve as the accounting lead for ERP enhancements, financial systems implementations, process automation initiatives, and system integrations.
- Partner with IT and business stakeholders to define accounting requirements during system design, implementation, and optimization projects.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP while providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions.
- Oversee external audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment, including SOX compliance, risk assessments, control design, documentation, and testing support.
- Support strategic initiatives including new product introductions, manufacturing expansion, acquisitions, financing activities, and other cross-functional projects.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including significant experience leading accounting organizations within complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience serving as a Corporate Controller, VP Controller, or similar senior accounting executive in a high-growth, operationally intensive business.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting.
- Strong experience with manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable accounting and operational processes.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and IT.
