Under the guidance and supervision of the CHHS ASM, CHHS HR and Financial Analysts, Department Chairs, and CHHS Coordinators, the Admin Support Assistant provides general administrative support to the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) and its departments. The role supports faculty, staff, students, and the public in areas such as financial data entry, purchasing, communications, scheduling, record keeping, and non-sensitive personnel matters.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Data Entry & Purchasing Support:
Perform data entry of expenditures, complete required forms to initiate or process purchasing requests, submit online work orders, obtain quotes, and process travel requests & reimbursements using university and CHHS policies. - Customer Service & Faculty Support:
Provide customer service to faculty, staff, students, and the public, including answering phones and greeting department visitors. - Class Scheduling Support:
Assist chair/director in tracking faculty schedule availability and preferences. - Inventory Control:
Enter data into inventory of office equipment and supplies. - Personnel Administration Support:
Obtain information needed for hiring and provide it to appropriate departments per CSULB/CHHS policies and procedures.
CHHS Administration
Time Base1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of AppointmentTemporary position for one year; may expire prior to the end date.
CompensationSalary placement is determined by education, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and department fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range: $3,565 – $4,260 per month (Step #1 to Step #10)
- CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,565 – $5,092 per month (Step #1 to Step #19)
- Paid Time Off: Up to 24 vacation days per year, 14 paid holidays, and 12 sick days annually with unlimited accrual.

Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience. General administrative experience, including purchasing and managing a budget, is preferred.
