This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies across multiple departments within the District.

1 CAED vacancy is grant-funded, time limited, and contingent upon sufficient funding.

This position is grant-funded starting July 1, 2026 and is subject to renewal.

* Join the Long Beach Community College District as an Administrative Assistant, where you'll perform a wide range of advanced administrative and office support duties for assigned departments, managers, faculty, and staff. In this role, you will coordinate meetings and travel, maintain records and specialized databases, support budget and purchasing processes, assist with payroll and personnel documentation, and provide information regarding District and department policies and procedures to students, staff, and the public.

LBCC is recruiting for four (4) Administrative Assistant positions: one (1) in Facilities & Operations, one (1) in Student Equity, one (1) in CAED (pending approval), and one (1) in CAED (grant-funded, pending approval). This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with District policies and procedures.

Additionally, candidates must possess an Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 35 hour week, unless specified otherwise. Prorated part-time experience may be acceptable. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list
* in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.

AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Will support both campuses, but could be located at either the Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) or Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC)

* Salary:
Range 27, $4,515.63 - $5,550.21 Monthly

* * Eligibility list:
Will be valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications

* Advanced salary placement:
Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, please note that requests are typically capped at Step 3.
