Overview

The Senior Coordinator, Faculty Affairs provides primary administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs (AVPFA) and coordinates administrative support for Faculty Affairs. The role involves handling confidential tasks, scheduling and minute taking at confidential meetings, editing and distributing confidential documents, supporting research and discovery, and reviewing and editing unit process documents. The incumbent prioritizes and monitors timelines across the Faculty Affairs Unit, organizes staff position description updates for AVPFA direct reports, and tracks compliance with AVP and FA unit deadlines and deliverables.

The position also provides strategic program support involving a variety of employee and labor relations functions within Academic Affairs and may involve access to management strategies on collective bargaining negotiations at CSU Long Beach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high level and confidential support to the Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs.
  • Provide coordination and oversight of administrative support for Faculty Affairs Unit work/activities, special projects, events, and functions.
  • Prioritize and monitor Faculty Affairs timelines, progress toward strategic goals, compile data for and create public and administrative yearly reports, and track compliance regarding AVP and FA unit deadlines and deliverables throughout the academic and calendar year.
Department and Position Details

Department: Faculty Affairs

Time Base: 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment: This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Classification: Confidential Administrative Support II

Compensation and Benefits

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,687 - $5,000 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,687 - $11,223 per month.

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of related experience required.
  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a CSU college or department office is preferred.
