This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies across multiple departments within the District.

Join the Long Beach Community College District as an Admissions and Records Technician, where you’ll perform a variety of specialized and technical admissions and records functions in support of student success. In this role, you will process admissions applications, register students, maintain student records, process transcript requests, prepare enrollment and degree verifications, and provide information regarding District admissions, registration, and records policies and procedures to students, staff, and the public.

This position requires strong organizational and customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply admissions, registration, and records policies while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additionally, candidates must possess an Associate’s degree in business or public administration or a closely related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical and administrative office support experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

A limited number of candidates who best meet the needs of the District will be invited to continue in the examination process. It is important that your responses are clear and concise. Responses that are incomplete or unclear will not receive credit. The Work Experience you list on the application must also include all recent and relevant experience (including volunteer or unpaid work if the duties/responsibilities directly related to the job you are seeking) in order for your application and supplemental application to be considered.

Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 35 hour week, unless specified otherwise. Prorated part-time experience may be acceptable. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.

    Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

    Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC) but support both campuses
  • Salary:
    Range 28 $ 5,157.321 - $6,341.70 Monthly
  • * Eligibility list:
    Will be valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications
  • Advanced salary placement:
    Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, please note that requests are typically capped at Step 3.
