Executive Assistant to Dean of Graduate Studies

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Coordination:
    Oversees the coordination of various, multiple events. Coordination includes sending invitations, preparing agendas, scheduling rooms, and making catering arrangements.
  • General Administration, Communications:
    Develops and maintains Graduate Studies websites and print publications under the supervision of the Communications Specialist.
Education and Experience

Required: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred:

  • 3 years of administrative support experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

  • Hiring Range: $4,799 (Step #1) – $4,993 (Step #3) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
  • CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,799 (Step #1) – $6,992 (Step #20) per month.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of various Microsoft Products, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of website design and maintenance; thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling at an appropriate level; working knowledge of budget policies and procedures; experience in People Soft and SharePoint highly preferred; ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community; ability to perform basic business math and draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.

Light work. Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.
