This position will oversees an office of approximately 64 academic employees, which includes 11 tenured/tenure-track faculty 4 FERP, 1 joint, 33 Lecturers, 28 Teaching Assistants, 2 Graduate Assistants as well as supervising 1 full-time staff; 21/22 FTES of 382.45 with a seven BAs (168), a six minors (162), four certificates (15) and four master’s degrees (56). Serves as the primary resource for information regarding department policy and practice for faculty, students, and staff providing continuity in policy and procedure;
maintains Department budget and records; and completes faculty and staff hiring.
- Understand, disseminate and implement procedures, policies, and practices.
- Budget and fiscal management:
Manage general, continuing education, grant, and other fund budgets. - Personnel:
Maintain files on current or former full‑time faculty, part‑time faculty, teaching assistants, graduate assistants, instructional student assistants ,and prepare all documents to hire and separate personnel. - Supervision:
Coordinate all clerical functions in this complex department office, including planning individual assignments, training staff, and making assignments based on office workload and deadlines. - Arranging Events and
Activities:
Prepares all forms, correspondence, brochures and announcements. - Departmental record‑keeping, records processing, reports and written material preparation.

Duration of AppointmentThis is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

CompensationSalary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,799(Step #1) - $6,992 (Step #20) per month.
